REGISTRATION CLOSES TODAY at 4 p.m..

Hear former Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge Jack Goertzen (later a Court of Appeal justice) tell the tales of the pig's head placed in a judge's toilet by a colleague; the unleashing of live chickens by one judge in another judge's courtroom; and the USC marching band making a surprise appearance in master calendar court.

Reminisce with us. Do you remember having to carry a beeper, to be summoned when a courtroom opened? Carbon paper, Liquid Paper, bluebacks, Shepardizing?

Can you name the Los Angeles Municipal Court presiding judge who wore a judicial robe to dinner and insisted that his wife and daughter address him as "Your Honor"?

Do you recall the judge below, holding a press conference?

Reminiscing will be Goertzen—who used to break up audiences in Department One at Superior Court enrobements—retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Parkin (a former presiding judge), retired U.S. District Court Judge George P. Schiavelli, attorney Thomas Cacciatore and former LACBA President and County Counsel Andrea Ordin.

Actress June Lockhart will moderate panel game shows resembling those on the air decades ago. Panelists will include retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lawrence W. Crispo and attorneys Nowland Hong and Lola Alpin-Grant.

Videos will be shown…including a clip from “The Dating Game” with a young Alex Kozinki as a contestant and a vintage segment of “People’s Court,” with the late Judge Gilbert Alston as a litigant.

And there will be plenty of surprises.

“Gary Greene, Esq. and his Big Band of Barristers” will play tunes that were on the radio when we were young.

The event will be held in the Alsace Room of Taix French Restaurant, 1911 Sunset Boulevard, one block east of Alvarado, with registration and a no-host cocktail reception at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:45 p.m., and the program at 7:30 p.m.

The restaurant offers a choice of three entrees:
