Sheppard Mullin Adds Healthcare Partner to Local Office

Veteran Healthcare attorney Tin Kin Lee has joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton’s Healthcare Practice Team as a lateral partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Lee spent seven years with Manatt, Phelps & Phillips where he was a partner in the firm’s Healthcare Department before making the move to Sheppard Mullin. While at Manatt, Lee represented managed care plans in the statewide Medi-Cal managed care initiative.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Healthcare Practice Team at Sheppard Mullin,” Lee said in a statement. “The depth and sophistication of the firm’s healthcare practice will be an ideal platform from which to serve our clients. In addition, as healthcare delivery continues to evolve and adapt to increasing government regulation, changing business conditions and new technology, we will be well positioned to help our clients anticipate those changes and develop practical solutions.”
Lee has a background in healthcare transactions and regulations and counsels clients on business transactions as well as on fraud and abuse, corporate practice of medicine, antitrust, Medicare and Medi-Cal reimbursement, inurement and private benefit, managed care contracting, hospital licensure, and other regulatory issues.
Lee has also represented national and international corporate clients in complex corporate and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, leasing, sales, debt and equity financings, loan restructuring, public offerings and leveraged buyouts.

Lee began his career with the Washington, D.C. firm Melrod, Redman & Gartland before moving to Rogers & Wells in Los Angeles. Lee also worked as a healthcare partner for Pasadena firm McDermott & Traynor for two years before moving to Manatt in 1994.
He has been involved with the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s CFO Forum and is a member of the organization’s Healthcare Executives of Southern California.
Lee earned his undergraduate degree from USC and his law degree from Columbia University.
