Courthouse Mural, Sponsored by Valley Bar Association, to Be Unveiled Today in Burbank

The third of four courthouse murals commissioned by the San Fernando Valley Bar Association is scheduled to be unveiled this morning.
The mural, by San Francisco sculptor and muralist Horace Washington, will be unveiled in a ceremony at the Burbank courthouse at 11:30 a.m. Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert A. Dukes, Superior Court Executive Officer John Clarke, North Central District Supervising Judge Mary Thornton House, SFVBA President Steve Holzer and Washington are expected to participate.
The SFVBA commissioned the four murals in 2001 to commemorate the group’s 75th anniversary that year. Murals at the San Fernando Valley Juvenile Court in Sylmar and the San Fernando courthouse were unveiled in 2002.
The final mural, at the civil courthouse in Van Nuys, is scheduled to be completed later this year.
