Liner Yankelevitz Firm Moving East to Westwood

By DON PARRET, Staff Writer

Santa Monica law firm Liner Yankelevitz Sunshine & Regenstreif has signed a 10-year, $16 million lease to occupy two floors of the 22-story Westwood Center in Westwood Village.

“We thought the timing was right, and it’s a great building,” said name partner Stuart Liner, who noted the firm would be moving in December.

The firm has grown dramatically since its inception, Liner said, from two attorneys in 1996 to nearly 60 today.

“It’s been a good run and we didn’t want to screw it up,” he said. “Moving to Westwood will help with lifestyle issues, retention and recruiting.”

The firm will be moving out of its offices at 3130 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica to the 14th and 15th floors of Westwood Center at 1100 Glendon Ave., owned by Los Angeles-based Arden Realty.

The firm will take over 38,846 on the two floors for its 50 lawyers and 40 support staff.

Its former office had nearly 26,000 square feet of office space.

The firm also has a San Francisco office.

The building, once known to many as the “Monty’s” building, was gutted and renovated in the late 1990s. It was originally built in 1965.

Liner Yankelevitz’s specialties include litigation, entertainment litigation, business, bankruptcy, tax and estate planning and real estate and finance transactions.

Liner Yankelevitz’s clients include, among others, the California State Teachers’ Retirement System, State Street Global Advisors and International Creative Management and Skechers USA.
