Davis Names Fresno Litigator To Superior Court Judgeship

Litigator Adolpho M. Corona of Dowling, Aaron & Keeler was named yesterday to the Fresno Superior Court by Gov. Gray Davis.
Corona, who has practiced civil litigation and municipal law with the Fresno firm since 1986, will fill the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Gene Gomes to the Fifth District Court of Appeal. Corona heads the firm’s Public Entity and Land Use Practice Group and is the contract city attorney for the City of Sanger.
Corona has served the court he will join as a judge pro tem. He earned his law degree at Boalt Hall and his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley.
He was elected to the Fowler Unified School District Board of Trustees in 1991 and served as the board’s president in 1993-94 and 1997-98. In 2000 Corona was elected to the State Center Community College Board of Trustees.
He was president of the Fresno County Young Lawyers Association in 1991-92.
His practice with the 26-lawyer firm has included complex business litigation, creditor remedies, construction, real estate, bankruptcy litigation and public entity representation.
Corona said he was “very honored and very pleased” at the appointment.
As a Superior Court judge Corona will earn a salary of $139,476.
