Judge Richardson to Leave Bench on Wednesday

Wednesday will be the last day on the bench for Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Tony L. Richardson.

After using earned vacation days, he will officially retire on Oct. 2.

Richardson was appointed to his post by then-Gov. Jerry Brown on Dec. 27, 2012. He was, at the time, a litigation and arbitration partner at SNR Denton US LLP.

His law degree is from Stanford.

The judge’s term ends Jan. 4. There was speculation he would not seek reelection—thus creating an open seat—but he did perfect his candidacy and, gaining no opponent, was elected to a new term.
