By a MetNews Staff Writer

A celebration of the life of retired Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Richard A. Curtis is slated for Sept. 27.

Curtis, who died on July 27 at the age of 81, was a bench officer for 25 years, including 22 years in family law. He retired in 2008.

The tribute will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Dana Point Community House, 24642 San Juan Ave., in Dana Point.

The family has asked that those planning to attend so advise by Sept. 17 to justinbcurtis@gmail.com. It requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cancer Research Institute or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in honor of Curtis’s late wife, Patricia Curtis.

He is survived by sons Justin and Tyson Curtis.
