Judge Guillemet to Retire

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Kimberley Baker Guillemet’s last day on the bench will be Friday.
After using earned vacation days, she will officially retire June 30.
Guillemet was appointed to the court in 2018 by then-Gov. Jerry Brown. She was, at the time, director of the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Reentry, a post she held since 2015.
Her law degree is from USC.
She is the author of a memoir, “Black Prep: Life Lessons of a Perpetual Outsider.”
The judge did not respond to a request for comment on her plans and reflections.
