Newsom Appoints Aharonov to L.A. Superior Court

Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced the appointment of 15 persons to superior courts judgeships, including one in Los Angeles County.
The governor said Thursday night he has selected Amir Aharonov to serve as a judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Aharonov, a graduate of Loyola Law School, will fill the vacancy created by Judge Robin M. Sloan’s retirement.
He has served as a commissioner for the court since 2021. Prior to his work on the bench, he was a senior partner at Aharonov & Revy Family Law from 2007-20 and of counsel at Webster Kaplan Sprunger from 2020-21.
Aharonov is registered with no party preference.
Newsom’s other appointments include two new judges in the counties of Alameda, San Francisco, and Riverside, as well as one new jurist in each of the counties of Contra Costa, Kern, Marin, Mendocino, Orange, San Bernardino, Santa Cruz, and Siskiyou. Of the appointees, 11 are Democrats and three are registered without party affiliation.
