Hearing Set on Motion to Recuse DA’s Office

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Roger Ito yesterday set a Sept. 14 hearing date on a motion to bar the District Attorney’s Office from representing the People in habeas corpus proceedings in a case in which, according to the motion by the family of murder victims, a prosecutor is on the payroll of the Public Defender’s Office.
Ito said he has been doing research in connection with the motion and encouraged the parties to submit guidance.
