The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors yesterday approved, by a vote of 5-0, the hiring of former federal prosecutor Lawrence S. Middleton as a special prosecutor in the Office of District Attorney to re-open police shooting cases.
The supervisors acted at the request of District Attorney George Gascón.
