The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced yesterday that Hilary Lee Potashner has been reappointed as public defender for the Central District of California.
She became acting public defender in 2014, took office as public defender on June 29, 2015, and embarked on a second four-year term on Sunday, the court said.
Potashner joined the office as a deputy in 2001, became a supervising defender in 2007, and became the chief deputy in 2012.
She was a San Diego County deputy public defender from 1993 to 2000.
Her law degree was received in 1993 from Hastings College of the Law.
