A memorial service for retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Samuel Mayerson is slated for Dec. 1, a court spokesperson said yesterday,

The service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, 3663 Wilshire Blvd., in Los Angeles.

Mayerson, who died Sept. 30 at age 96, served on the Superior Court from 1981-94, and continued to sit as an assigned judge until 2015.

Prior to his judicial service, he was a deputy district attorney, and was chief prosecutor of newspaper heiress Patty Hearst and Symbionese Liberation Army members William and Emily Harris in connection with a 1974 shooting at an Inglewood sporting goods store. He gained a conviction of the Harisses and a no-contest plea from Hearst.
