ADDA Endorses Lacey for Reelection As Los Angeles District Attorney

By a MetNews Staff Writer

Los Angeles County District Attorney yesterday received the endorsement of the Association of Deputy District Attorneys for election to a third term as the county’s chief prosecutor.

The ADDA’s vice president, Eric Siddall, said the group, which represents nearly 1,000 deputies, “is thrilled to endorse L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey’s re-election bid because she’s led the way in bringing a forward-thinking approach to protecting the public while also promoting smart, innovative policies to reform our system,” adding:

“She’s worked to advance a justice for all agenda, protecting victims of domestic violence, child abuse and human trafficking, while also leading the charge to divert people who are mentally ill out of the criminal justice system.  Jackie Lacey is clearly the best choice for the people of L.A. County, and we’re excited to help her get re-elected.”

George Gascón, who resigned as San Francisco district attorney effective Oct. 18, appears to be her chief rival.

Deputy District Attorney Richard Ceballos is also a challenger.
