Celebration to Be Held of Life of Kenneth Ofgang

By a MetNews Staff Writer

A memorial and celebration of the life of Kenneth Ofgang, a MetNews  staff writer for 27 years who died Dec. 16, will be held on March 10 at Temple Beth Israel.

The temple is located at 5711 Monte Vista Street in Highland Park. Doors will open at 5:45, and there will be a brief Maariv and Havdalah service at 6:15 p.m.

“The rest of the evening will be devoted to sharing memories of Ken—Temple member, attorney, journalist, Dodger fan, Kings fan, and, most especially, loyal, loving, and delightful friend,” according to an announcement.

“Attendees are invited to share thoughts or stories about Ken,” the announcement says, with the request that remarks not exceed three minutes.

“After we support the family with the Mourner’s Kaddish,” it advises, “light refreshments will be served.”

Those intending to attend are asked to provide an advisement by emailing rememberkenofgang@gmail.com.

Ofgang, who practiced law in Miami and Los Angeles before joining the MetNews  staff, died of metastatic melanoma. He was 64.
