LACBA Nominating Committee’s Choice For Officer, Trustee Spots Unopposed

By a MetNews Staff Writer

No contest developed this year for officer or trustee positions in the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Those chosen by the Nominating Committee will take office July 1, along with President-Elect Brian S. Kabateck who automatically assumes the presidency. They will take their oaths of office June 27 at an installation reception June 27 at the Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel.

The officers, in addition to Kabateck, will be Ronald F. Brot, president-elect; Tamila C. Jensen, senior vice president; and Bradley S. Pauley, vice president.

The trustees, elected to two-year terms, will be Gary A. Farwell, Jo-Ann W. Grace, John F. Hartigan, Amos E. Hartston, Richard L. Kellner, Eve Lopez, Ann I. Park, Edwin C. Summers and Kendra Thomas.

All of the officers and six of the nine trustees are members of the Council of Sections, formed in 2015 to oppose the financial policies of LACBA and what was seen as pervasive secrecy. In the 2016 elections, its candidates won the three officer positions and the seven trustee seats for which it had a contender.
