California Supreme Court to Institute Voluntary E-Filing on July 10

The California Supreme Court announced Friday it will accept voluntary e-filings starting July 10, with electronic filings becoming mandatory Sept. 1.
It said the following documents have been approved for e-filing:
•Petitions for review;
•Answers to petitions for review;
•Replies to answers to petitions for review;
•Motions, applications, and documents related to petitions for review; and
•Automatic appeals from a judgment of death and related habeas corpus matters.
E-filing is authorized by California Rules of Court, rule 8.70.
