State Bar Slates Annual Public Hearings

The State Bar of California has announced that it will hold its annual public hearing on ethics and competence Dec. 8 at its Los Angeles office located at 1149 S. Hill St., 7th floor.

The hearing is to start at 10 a.m.

Members of the public and the legal profession are invited to attend and will have an opportunity to address a panel of State Bar representatives regarding the attorney discipline process, the admissions process and other issues concerning attorney competence.

An additional hearing will be held Dec. 7 at the State Bar’s offices in San Francisco.

Anyone wishing to speak at the hearings or present written materials should contact Doug Hull at 415-538-2015 or doug.hull@calbar.ca.gov by Friday, Dec. 2, the State Bar said.

The hearings will be webcast for the first time this year, but testimony will be received in person only. The webpage for viewing the proceedings is http://board.calbar.ca.gov/Video.aspx.
