Los Angeles Attorney Peter Navarro Elected Commissioner

Los Angeles attorney Peter R. Navarro has been elected the courtís newest commissioner, judicial officers were told yesterday after votes were counted in the recent balloting.
Navarro, a sole practitioner whose office is near downtown Los Angeles, could not be reached for comment on his election. He is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz and Peopleís College of Law.
Admitted to the State Bar in 1981, Navarro practices criminal law and is a former president of the Mexican American Bar Association.
The new commissioner was elected from a list of candidates nominated by a judicial panel.
Following its tradition of many years standing, the court elected the candidate who was highest-ranked by the panel.
