Funeral Services Today for Judge Ralph Dau

By a MetNews Staff Writer

A funeral service will be held today for Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ralph Dau, who died last Thursday at the age of 78.

The service is to take place at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in La Canada.  The address for the church is 215 Foothill Blvd, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011; the phone is (818) 949-4300.

The court said last week that Dau had died from complications following hip surgery. Presiding Judge Carolyn Kuhl elaborated yesterday, telling the judicial officers in an email that “’we now understand that he had recovered well from his hip surgery, but that he suffered a complication from an infection in his lungs.”

Dau was a civil litigator at O’Melveny & Myers from 1966 until 1995, when he was appointed to the bench by then-Gov. Pete Wilson.
