Superior Court Names Five New Commissioners

The Los Angeles Superior Court has named five new commissioners.
The five are Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Kristen Byrdsong, Deputy Public Defender Cherol Nellon, Deputy District Attorney Steven Ipson, Deputy District Attorney Maria Santos, and Long Beach attorney Angela Villegas.
Ipson, not to be confused with former Association of Deputy District Attorneys President Steven Ipsen, was an active candidate for election to the Los Angeles Superior Court in this year’s elections, but dropped out as the commissioner selection process went forward.
The court informed judicial officers of the result of balloting among the court’s judges. The ballots were tallied last Friday, and the results were as expected, with the candidates ranked highest by a judicial panel being selected.
