She is a member of the San Diego Theatres Board of Directors and the Humane Society of the United States Communications Council.

The position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $50 per diem. Spector is a Democrat.

State Bar President David Pasternak said in a statement:

“We thank the governor for his appointment and look forward to welcoming a new board member with a strong communications background. This will be particularly helpful as we seek to educate and engage our stakeholders across the state.”
