Private Equity Lawyer Eva Davis Moves to Winston & Strawn
By a MetNews Staff Writer
Eva Davis has joined the firm of Winston & Strawn LLP as a partner, the firm announced last week.
Davis, 48, joins the firm from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she was founding partner of its Los Angeles corporate department. Davis will serve as the chair of West Coast Private Equity at Winston & Strawn’s Los Angeles office.
“The primary reason I came to Winston was to provide a better value to my private equity fund and portfolio company clients.”
Davis advises her clients on complex business transactions with particular focus on mergers and acquisitions. With Winston & Strawn, she will be focusing on middle market M&A and financing transactions.
“I will also be focused on building out a West Coast private equity team with extensive experience in the middle market transactions…This will supplement Winston’s existing Los Angeles corporate platform.”
Her transactional experience includes deals ranging from tens of millions to more than $1 billion.
Eric Sagerman, managing partner of Winston & Strawn’s Los Angeles office, said in a press release:
“Eva’s addition builds on the finance, structured products, mergers and acquisitions and other transactional capabilities that we have secured in Los Angeles to serve our clients.”
Davis has published various articles, including “Making Nice, or Playing It Smart: Is corporate social responsibility a director duty or simply good PR?” in Corporate Counsel September 2010.
Davis graduated summa cum laude from Duke University in 1987, and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1990.
