By a MetNews Staff Writer

Services will be held today for Jacqueline Fox, a dependency court mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Fox died Friday at the age of 66.

Fox had held the mediator’s position since 1997. A graduate of UCLA and Whittier College School of Law, she was a certified family law specialist and had been on the juvenile dependency panel.

In a memo to judicial officers yesterday, the court administration said of Fox:

“Her understanding of the needs of families and children was extensive and she worked tirelessly every day to better their lives by assisting them to resolve their conflicts for the sake of their children. Ms. Fox was highly sought after for her skills in helping families reach final agreements regarding custody upon termination from the juvenile court. Her knowledge and skill as a mediator were enhanced by her expertise in family law and juvenile law. Both the juvenile court and the family law court benefitted from her skills.”

Survivors include her daughter, attorney Danielle Schenker.

Today’s services are set to begin at noon, at Mount Sinai in Hollywood Hills, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.
