William Mitchell Named Interim CEO for Superior Court

By a MetNews Staff Writer

A top administrator at the Los Angeles Superior Court has been named interim executive officer and clerk of the court, a spokesperson for the court said yesterday.

William Mitchell—whose current title is deputy executive officer, administration/finance—will take over at the end of March for the retiring John A. Clarke.

Clarke announced last November that he would retire after 18 years at the court. The selection of Mitchell as a temporary replacement, while the search for a permanent successor continues, was apparently made at a closed meeting Wednesday of the court’s executive committee.

The search of a permanent successor is in the hands of a committee chaired by immediate past presiding judge Lee Edmon.
