U.S. Bankruptcy Court Establishes Call Center

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California has established a call center to handle calls from the public for the court’s Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Ana, Northern, and San Fernando Valley divisions.

The new call center, the court said in a release, provides automated access to commonly requested information such as how to obtain free or low cost legal assistance, court locations, attorney information, credit reporting and fraud, fee and check acceptance policy.

The call center’s toll-free number is (855) 460-9641.

Call center operators are available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and other published court closures days.

The automated service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Callers are also encouraged to continue using the court’s Voice Case Information System (VCIS) at (866) 222-8029 to obtain free information and status of a bankruptcy case. The automated VCIS service is also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
