L.A. Superior Court to Move Limited Civil Cases Out of Pomona North Courthouse

By a MetNews Staff Writer

Judges at the Pomona North Courthouse will no longer hear limited jurisdiction civil cases after next month, court officials said yesterday.

In the latest of a series of cost-cutting measures, the court will shift Pomona-area civil cases involving less than $25,000 to West Covina.

Those cases must be filed at the West Covina courthouse, 1427 West Covina Parkway, beginning May 1. Pomona North will no longer accept limited civil filings as of that date, although pending cases will continue to be heard there through May 31, the court explained in a release.

Cases now set to be heard at Pomona North after May 31 will be recalendared by the Clerk’s Office, the court said.

The change does not affect unlawful detainers and small claims cases, which will continue to be heard at Pomona North.

Further information can be obtained by calling (626) 813-3236, the court said.
