Services are scheduled this Friday for retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert D. Mackey, who died last Monday at the age of 74.
Mackey served on the Compton Municipal Court from 1984 to 1990 and the Los Angeles Superior Court from 1990 to 2003. He was also a member of the U.S. Army, spending 11 1/2 years on active duty before becoming a reserve colonel.
He spent most of his career hearing criminal and juvenile court cases. His final assignment was hearing delinquency cases at the Inglewood Juvenile Courthouse.
Friday’s services for the Dallas, Texas native and UCLA Law School graduate are set to begin at 11 a.m. They will be held at Holman United Methodist Church, 3320 West Adams Blvd., Los Angeles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
