Beverly Hills Bar Association Set to Install 80th President

The Beverly Hills Bar Association is set to install real estate attorney Lawrence H. Jacobson as its 80th president during a dinner ceremony next Tuesday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. 

Jacobson currently serves as legal counsel to the Newport Beach Association of Realtors and is a member of the California State Bar Real Estate Sales and Brokerage Steering Committee.

He is a past chair of the BHBA Real Estate Section, and former legal counsel to the Beverly Hills Board of Realtors and the San Fernando Valley Board of Realtors.

The attorney holds degrees in political science and law from UCLA, where he was a senior editor of the UCLA Law Review and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Louis M. Meisinger has been asked to administer the oath of office to Jacobson, as well as his cabinet, the officers for the BHBA Barristers, the young lawyers’ section, and the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation—the charitable arm of the BHBA. 

Other officers to be sworn in are President-Elect John K. Rubiner of Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg; First Vice-President Diane L. Karpman of Karpman & Associates; Second Vice-President Linda E. Spiegel, a private mediator and attorney; Secretary/Treasurer Howard S. Fredman of Fredman Knupfer Lieberman LLP; and Immediate Past President Stephen L. Raucher of Reuben Raucher & Blum.

The BHBA Barristers cabinet members to be installed are President Jaison Benjamin, of Clinton & Clinton; President-Elect Jeanine Percival Wright of Robins Kaplan Miller & Ciresi, LLP; Treasurer Jonathan Dennis of Rosen Sada LLP; Secretary Amanda Hill of Beverly Hills; and Immediate Past President Leigh Leshner of  Sherman Oaks.

 Beverly Hills Foundation leadership to be invested includes President Uzzi Raanan of Danning, Gill, Diamond & Kollitz; President-Elect Dawn Coulson of Epps Yong & Coulson; Vice President Development Stephen P. Webb of Tilles Webb Kulla & Grant; Treasurer/CFO Bonita Moore of Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg; Vice President Scholarship Nancy Knupfer of Fredman Knupfer Lieberman LLP; Assistant Vice President Scholarship Robert Aronoff of Beverly Hills; Vice-President Grants Linda Blank of Century City; Secretary Michelle J. Correll of Los Angeles; and immediate Past President Paul Basile Jr. of Edelstone & Basile.

 Outstanding service awards are also set to be presented to Jonathan Stein of Century City, Elizabeth A. Moreno of Los Angeles, Gary Weyman of Encino, Deborah Fontaine, and Kenneth G. Petrulis of Goodson Wachtel & Petrulis.

Proceeds from the $200 ticket price for the 5:30 p.m. event support the educational and community outreach programs of the BHBA, the association said. 

The Four Seasons Hotel is located at 300 South Doheny Drive in Los Angeles.
