Fox Rothschild LLP yesterday announced the elevation of Los Angeles attorney Alan C. Chen to partner.

Chen litigates copyright, trademark and patent infringement actions, including software counterfeiting, gray market goods, false advertising, e-commerce, domain dispute, e-discovery, trade secrets, Lanham Act and imports from China and Taiwan, according to his firm biography.

Before joining the firm, Alan was an associate at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold LLP, where he worked in the Entertainment/Media and Coverage practice groups.

The attorney, who is fluent and literate in Mandarin, Hakka and Fukienese, graduated from UC San Diego in 1993, and went on to serve as the executive director for Vision 21, an organization that he established and managed which lobbied federal and state lawmakers on policy issues involving minority voting rights, multilingual government services, and redistricting in California.

Chen then attended Southwestern Law School, where he received awards for excellence in Software & Internet Law, International Trade Law and Immigration Law before graduating in 2002 and being admitted to the State Bar in 2003.
