Dykema Adds Commercial Litigator to Los Angeles Office

Dykema on Friday announced that Richard R. Smith has joined its Los Angeles office as a senior attorney in its Financial Industry Group.
His practice focuses on consumer financial services litigation, commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, and media and entertainment transactional matters, according to a release from the firm.
Other areas of practice listed in his firm biography include copyrights, trademark and domain name registry, and wage-and-hour law compliance.
Smith began his legal career as a law clerk for Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Pasco M. Bowman and worked as an associate for Peter Rubin & Simon LLP prior to joining Dykema.
He graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder before attending Loyola Law School where he served as Note and Comment Editor for the school’s Entertainment Law Review and earned Dean’s List honors each year.
Smith joined the State Bar in 2004.
