Michelman & Robinson LLP yesterday announced the addition of business attorney Andrew F. Kim as a partner in its Encino office.

Kim made the lateral move from Blank & Rome LLP’s Los Angeles location.

Todd H. Stitt, chair of M&R’s Commercial and Business Litigation Department said he was “thrilled” to welcome Kim to the firm, praising him as “a remarkable attorney with a proven track record of success” who “will make an immediate impact on our litigation practice.”

Kim is an experienced civil litigator whose practice focuses on business and commercial disputes, representing manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, designers, retailers, shipping companies, lenders, borrowers, investors, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, realtors, physicians, health care clinics and consumers in actions involving

breach of contract, torts and intellectual property claims, according to his firm biography.

The attorney also has experience in entertainment law, having represented studios, production companies, television networks, producers, domestic and international distributors and sales agents, directors, writers, actors, singers, composers, talent agents and talent and business managers in legal disputes.

He is the immediate-past president of the Board of Directors of Center for Civic Mediation—formerly known as Los Angeles County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services Inc.—a non-profit organization that helps youth and other community members with dispute resolution.

Kim attended Brown University and the Boston University School of Law before joining the California State Bar in 1991.
