Foley & Lardner Announces Elevation of Three to Partnership

Foley & Lardner announced Friday that three of the firm’s senior counsel in its Los Angeles office have been elected partners.

The new partners are Jeffery R. Atkin, Jaime Guerrero and John G. Yslas.

Atkin is a member of the Energy Industry Team and the Finance & Financial Institutions and Transactional & Securities practices. His areas of practice include renewable energy, project finance, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate development, equipment leasing, aircraft-related transactions and information technology.

Atkin joined the State Bar of California in 2005 after attending college at Southern Utah University and law school at Brigham Young University.

Guerrero is a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense Practice, and focuses on of government enforcement actions, white collar criminal defense, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, accounting litigation, securities litigation, and partnership disputes. A graduate of UC Berkeley and UCLA School of Law, he was admitted to the State Bar in 1997.

Yslas is a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment and General Commercial Litigation practices, as well as its National Class Action Group and Litigation Department Training Committee. He has represented employers in actions involving state and federal claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, breach of employment contract, wrongful termination, unequal pay, breach of fiduciary duty, unlawful interference with prospective business opportunity, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, constitutional rights violations, and wage and hour violations.

Yslas joined the State Bar in 1996 after attending college at UC Santa Barbara and law school at UCLA.
