Los Angeles-based litigator S. Christian Stouder has taken the helm of Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP.

Stouder, 44, succeeds Dennis Wheeler, who stepped down at the end of his five-year term Jan. 1, the firm said in a release.

The new managing partner said he was “honored and proud to head a firm that enjoys a rich history in California and fosters high standards for quality legal services,” adding that his “vision” was to “strengthen our legacy and future” by “partnering with our clients as well as better positioning the firm for growth, especially in the areas of employment and business law including litigation, transactions and bankruptcy.”

A civil defense litigator, Stouder concentrates his practice in the areas of product liability and real estate litigation. He serves on the steering committees of the firm’s Law Firm Management, Product Liability and Retail Practice groups.

Stouder graduated from Indiana University in 1987 and the University of San Diego School of Law in 1990. He was admitted to practice that same year and began his legal career at Haight Brown. Stouder is also licensed in Indiana.

Founded in 1937, Haight Brown maintains offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, Riverside and San Diego. The 72-member firm’s practice areas include products liability, trucking and transportation law, insurance law, business law, appellate law, professional liability, employment law and construction law.
