Public Defenders Association to Honor Michael P. Judge

Los Angeles Public Defender Michael P. Judge has been selected by the California Public Defenders Association to receive its Lifetime Achievement award.
Judge, who is retiring, is slated to receive the honor at the group’s award luncheon May 14 in Palm Springs.
The association’s president, Bart Sheela, noted that Judge has “worked tirelessly and collaboratively with legislators, judges, prosecutors and public defenders to help establish rules of fairness and equality that will benefit our communities, our clients and all public defenders” throughout his career.
Sheela opined that Judge’s “dedication to the cause of public defenders and indigent clients is without equal,” and predicted that the public defender’s “vision of leadership and mentoring will continue to guide our profession for years to come.”
