Civil litigator Dommond E. Lonnie has joined Dykema’s Los Angeles office as of counsel to its Automotive and Products Liability Litigation Group, the firm has announced.

The firm said Thursday that Lonnie had made the move from Grace, Cosgrove & Schirm.

Dykema Chairman Rex E. Schlaybaugh Jr. praised Lonnie’s experience both as a “litigator and legal strategist,” opining that he “brings an outstanding complement of knowledge and successful outcomes” to the firm, “particularly in automotive and toxic tort litigation.”

Daniel Stephenson, a managing member of Dykema’s Los Angeles office, remarked that Lonnie “is a great asset,” and his addition to the firm was “key to our growth plans.”

Lonnie’s practice focuses on products liability, personal injury, construction defect, trucking, and professional liability matters, according to his firm biography.

He attended college and law school at UCLA before joining the State Bar in 1989. Lonnie began his legal career with Grace Cosgrove and became a partner with that firm in 1997.

The attorney is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Langston Bar Association.
