By a MetNews Staff Writer

International law firm Winston & Strawn said yesterday that former O’Melveny & Myers partner C. James Levin and former Mayer Brown partner Warren Loui have joined its Los Angeles office as partners.

Levin is the former co-chair of O’Melveny’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity practices. His practice focuses on tender offers, leveraged buyouts, negotiated acquisitions, antitakeover measures, and proxy contests.

He attended college at DePauw University and law school at Northwestern University before joining the State Bar of California in 1981.

Loui was a member of Mayer Brown’s banking and finance department, and was the firm’s Los Angeles Finance practice leader. He works primarily on issues of corporate finance, including corporate lending, securitization, capital raising for emerging companies, and acquisition financings in the entertainment and gaming industries.

The attorney is also a member of the executive advisory board for the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, a past co-chair of the Joint Minority Bar Task Force on Diversity, and a former member of the California State Bar Corporations Committee and the Los Angeles Bar Association Committee on Diversity.

He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and attended Stanford University, where he earned both a business and law degree in 1981. Loui is licensed to practice in both New York and California, and joined the California State Bar in 1987.
