By a MetNews Staff Writer

Reed Smith LLP yesterday announced the addition of Francisca M. “Cisca” Mok to its Century City office.

Mok, a former partner in the Los Angeles office of McDermott, Will & Emery, joins Reed Smith’s 140-member Global Regulatory Enforcement Group.

Group leader Jim Gallatin opined that Mok, with her “more than 10 years of securities, white collar and commercial litigation experience and her capabilities will be a great addition” as the firm continues to expand its securities and investigations practice on the West Coast.

Stuart Shanus, managing partner of the Century City office, said that Mok is “well-known to many attorneys in this office and we are very happy to welcome her to Reed Smith.”

Mok remarked that she has been serving as co-counsel with Reed Smith attorneys on a pending SEC investigation and securities class action and that she was “delighted to be joining the firm.”

Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation matters, including in the areas of securities law, unfair competition and class action litigation, the firm said. She also provides counsel on airport aviation noise and development issues.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Government from Harvard University in 1995 and then attended law school at UCLA. Prior to her graduation in 1999 and admission to the California State Bar in 2000, Mok served as an extern at the Oregon Supreme Court.

Mok is the second partner to join Reed Smith’s Century City office in the last month, following the addition of partner Michael S. Sherman, who became part of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Group in mid-April.
