By a MetNews Staff Writer

The Ventura Superior Court said yesterday it is seeking applicants for future commissioner vacancies.

The current recruitment will be used to establish a list of eligible candidates for commissioner vacancies occurring during the next 12 months, the court said in a release.

Ventura commissioners hear family law, juvenile delinquency and dependency, child support, probate, guardianship and conservatorship, domestic violence, civil harassment, traffic, criminal, small claims, civil law and motion, unlawful detainer and other matters, and perform evening court sessions as assigned.

Commissioners sit, at the pleasure of the court, in Oxnard, Simi Valley or Ventura.

Applicants must be admitted to practice as member of the State Bar of California for at least 10 years, the court said. The filing deadline is July 31, and applications may be obtained at www.ventura.courts.ca.gov under the employment link.

Additional information may be obtained by calling (805) 339-2934, the court said.
