Best Best & Krieger Attorney Elected to State Bar Section Chair

Riverside County attorney Stephen P. Deitsch has been elected to chair the Public Law Section of the State Bar of California.
Deitsch will serve a one-year term as head of the 1,400-member section comprised of attorneys who serve cities, counties, school districts and other public agencies.
“I take pride in the work of public law practitioners and look forward to serving their interests in the coming year,” Deitsch said.
His focus, he said, will be on continuing to provide much-needed resources for public law attorneys through continuing education and the publication of the Public Law Journal, which documents important developments in the field.
The attorney is a partner at Best Best & Krieger’s Ontario office and specializes in municipal and redevelopment law, the firm said.
He also serves as city attorney for Indian Wells, Big Bear Lake, Arcadia and Shafter, and serves as redevelopment counsel for those four cities as well as Fontana, Ontario and Westminster.
The former Public Law Section vice-chair and editor of the Public Law Journal attended Brandeis University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
He was admitted to the State Bar in 1979.
