Sheppard Mullin Gains Corporate Healthcare Partner

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP yesterday announced that healthcare attorney Kenneth Yood has joined its Century City office as a partner in its corporate practice group. 

Coming from Fulbright & Jaworski, Yood’s practice involves representation of healthcare providers and healthcare companies,home health agencies, pharmaceutical vendors, nursing facilities, and health information and management providers, the firm said.

Guy Halgren, chairman of the firm, praised Yood as “an impressive healthcare attorney with an excellent reputation in the industry, who brings significant knowledge and expertise to the firm.”

Halgren predicted that Yood’s experience in healthcare regulatory and reimbursement would “dovetail[] well” with the firm’s existing healthcare practice and that Yood’s “transactional expertise will be of value to our private equity clients, as investment interest in this area heats up,”

Yood called Sheppard Mullin the “perfect platform for my practice and clients,” with its  “growing healthcare group…well-established position in California and…very strong healthcare labor practice.”

He added that the firm “has an entrepreneurial and collegial culture, which I value highly.”

The attorney earned his law degree from the University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 1989,  his master’s degree  in Public Health from Harvard University in 1990 and his undergraduate degree from Haverford College in 1986. 

Admitted to the State Bar in 1991, Yood is also licensed to practice in New York and Massachusetts.

 In other news, Sheppard Mullin also increased its corporate practice group in its Silicon Valley office, with Louis Lehot joining that office as a partner.
