Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger yesterday announced that partner Babak “Bob” Baradaran has been selected as chair of its Real Estate group.

The Century City-based firm said its management committee believed Baradaran’s “breadth of transactional experience, coupled with his down-to-earth leadership style and his personable approach to business dealings, will serve him well in leading one of the Firm’s key practices.”

Managing Partner Norman H. Levine praised Baradaran as an attorney who “personifies what is required to succeed in today’s challenging real estate market,” calling him “practical, intelligent, energetic and creative.”

Baradaran said he was “proud to have earned the confidence and trust of the Firm,” adding that he was “fortunate to lead a team of attorneys that is ideally situated and skilled to assist our clients in navigating this tumultuous economic environment and in executing quality deals that realize their business objectives.”

The firm said Baradaran’s real estate practice includes purchase and sale transactions; conventional, mezzanine and equity financing; distressed debt deals and workouts; shopping center development; office, industrial and retail leasing; and tax-deferred exchanges.

Baradaran attended both college and law school at USC before admission to the State Bar in 1996.
