Schwarzenegger Appoints Two Attorneys to State Agencies

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed two attorneys to state posts.

The governor on Wednesday appointed Newport Beach attorney Ali Jahangiri to the California Law Revision Commission and Atascadero attorney Mary Ann Tardiff to the Board of Parole Hearings.

Jahangiri, 34, has owned and operated Internet advertising and publishing firm Outclick Media since 2004 and currently serves on the Board of Overseers at Loyola Law School and as ambassador to the Samuel Jordan Center at the UC Irvine School of Humanities.

A Republican, he attended UC Irvine and Loyola Law School before admission to the State Bar in 2002, and began his career as an associate with Stradling Yocca Carlson and Rauth.

The position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem.

Tardiff, 58, has owned and operated the Law Offices of Mary Tardiff since 1986, when she was admitted to the State Bar.

A Democrat, she attended UC Irvine and Southern California Institute of Law.

The position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $111,845.
