Services Today for Ex-Municipal Court Commissioner Spada

Services are scheduled tonight for retired Los Angeles Municipal Court Commissioner D. Joseph Spada, who has died at age 87.

A former mayor of Montebello who served on the Municipal Court from 1984-1992, Spada died Wednesday. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1954 after graduating from Loyola Law School.

Spada served as a deacon of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles for the past 25 years, and is survived by his daughter, Marilyn, and his nephew, Battalion Chief Chris Logan of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Services are scheduled for 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 820 N. Garfield Ave. Montebello, CA 90640, and burial is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetary, 966 N. Potrero Grande Dr., Montebello.

The family asked that, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations consider Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, at the same address
