Real estate attorney Karl J. Lott has joined Holland & Knight’s Los Angeles office, the firm announced yesterday.

Lott, a partner and founding member of the Los Angeles boutique firm Lamb & Kawakami LLP, joined Holland & Knight as senior counsel.

Holland & Knight’s West Coast Real Estate Practice Group Leader Susan Booth predicted that Lott’s “extensive knowledge” of real estate law would complement the firm’s real estate practice, which she claimed it the largest of any national law firm.

Lott specializes in real estate and business transactional matters, which includes advising clients on entity structures, drafting and negotiating joint venture agreements, and representing buyers and sellers in sales of real estate, borrowers and lenders in real estate financings and workouts, and tenants and landlords in retail, office and industrial leasing matters, including property management.

He graduated with honors from the College of William & Mary in 1982, and earned his master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University in 1984. After graduating from UCLA law school, Lott worked as an associate in the transactional real estate departments of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Holland & Knight is among the nation’s 18 largest law firms, with more than 1,100 lawyers in 17 U.S. offices as well as Abu Dhabi, Beijing and Mexico City, and representative offices located in Caracas and Tel Aviv.
