National law firm Constangy, Brooks & Smith LLP has expanded its operations to the west coast.

Following a two-year affiliation with the Encino-based employment law firm of Landegger, Baron & Lavenant, the two firms have merged, increasing Constancy’s national network of offices to 18.

Alfred J. Landegger said his firm was “proud of the successful business history we have had with Constangy, and we are pleased that our offices will be instrumental in transitioning the firm into a new era of growth.”

Neil Wasser, Constangy’s national chairman, said he was “excited” to increase the firm’s ability to better serve its California clients and “further expand our national presence and reach” by acquiring Landegger’s Encino and Camarillo offices.

The merger brought 10 new attorneys specializing in employment law defense, class action litigation, sexual harassment and discrimination, and labor law into Constangy’s fold.

Constangy specializes in employment litigation, class action defense, employee benefits law, labor law, immigration, affirmative action law and OSHA issues. It was established in 1946 and boasts over 100 attorneys.

The Atlanta-based firm recently opened a satellite in the Chicago-Milwaukee area, and said it plans to open a new office in Greenville, SC next spring. It also maintains locations in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Texas.
