Scully, 55, has served in her current post over three terms since 1995.
From 1979 to 1994, Scully was a deputy district attorney in Sacramento.
She has been a member of the California District Attorneys Association since 1980 and has been its president for the 2005-06 term. She is the first woman to be president of the organization.
