LABCA Evaluation Panel Finds Appellate Justices Qualified

All 18 justices of this district’s Court of Appeal who are up for retention on the November ballot are qualified to remain on the court, a Los Angeles County Bar Association panel said yesterday.

“The Justices are reviewed for professional ability, competence, integrity and temperament” by the Appellate Judicial Evaluation Committee, LACBA said in its release.

The 18 are Justices Robert M. Mallano and Frances Rothschild of Div. One, Presiding Justice Roger W. Boren and Victoria Chavez of Div. Two, Justices Patti S. Kitching and Richard D. Aldrich of Div. Three, Presiding Justice Norman L. Epstein and Justices Thomas L. Willhite Jr., Nora M. Manella, and Steven C. Suzukawa of Div. Four; Justices Richard M. Mosk and Sandy R. Kriegler of Div. Five; Presiding Justice Arthur Gilbert of Div. Six; Presiding Justice Dennis M. Perluss and Justices Fred Woods and Laurie D. Zelon of Div. Seven; and Presiding Justice Candace D. Cooper and Justice Madeleine Flier of Div. Eight.
