There are three contestants for this seat.
We suspect that California Deputy Attorney General Bob Henry could do the job.
We suspect also that Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Deborah L. Sanchez could handle the position.
With Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Alan H. Friedenthal, we don’t need to speculate. He’s already a judicial officer and, from what we’ve ascertained, is performing with proficiency.
Friedenthal has been at his post as a subordinate judicial officer only since August, but was an as-needed referee for nearly eight years.
He has a sharp mind, but not a sharp tongue. He can control a courtroom, with a light touch.
