Los Angeles attorney Mark A. Lemke, an associate at Dale, Braden & Hinchcliffe,  has been awarded a scholarship to the State Bar’s Access & Fairness Leadership Academy, the firm announced last week.

The State Bar describes AFLA as “a pilot program to provide leadership training to a group of selected attorneys from diverse backgrounds, young lawyers, and others in the profession who aspire to become leaders and serve our diverse communities to develop and enhance your leadership skills in a collaborative and supportive learning environment.”

The academy holds four training sessions over the course of a year. The scholars include minority, female, disabled, senior, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered attorneys, the firm explained in its release.

Lemke practices insurance coverage law and bad faith defense, and has experience in construction defect and business litigation and employment law. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a law degree from USC.

He is active in the Muli-Cultural Bar Alliance and the California Minority Counsel Program and is a member of the Mexican American Bar Association, among other professional groups.
